The Locomotor Range – ‘The Fast Track to a Better Back’
Established in March 1995, Select Healthcare (UK) Ltd has been designing, manufacturing and supplying a complete range of patient moving and handling equipment for over 30 years, striving to provide quality, innovative products at an affordable price.
Select Healthcare (UK) Ltd
The company is launched by Richard Paine to manufacture and supply the new Locomotor Range of patient moving and handling equipment.
The Ultra Range of tubular slide sheets.
The first products in the range were silicon coated, nylon tubular slide sheets, offering 8 variations in size. These items are still one of our best selling ranges today and still a great product at a competitive price.
Launch of Select, Washable Sling range
Washable loop attachment hoist slings greatly broadened our catalogue, offering a competitively priced complete sling range solution, covering most sling designs, from toileting to bathing.
The Rota Stand line of patient turners is launched.
By adding our unique four wheel platform and other innovative design tweaks, we were able to launch the Rota Stand which took the concept of the sit to stand, pivot turner to the next level.
Rota Stand Solo
Since the launch of the original Rota Stand, we have developed further the basic concept, launching the Rota Stand Solo in 2002, adding the stabilising T-Bar innovation, allowing single carer use.
Rota Move wins innovation award at naidex
Our new patient turner/transfer device was awarded 3rd place in the innovation category at the Naidex exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham.
SPU Slide Sheets – The S.U.P.A Slide.
With the increasing incidence of MRSA, CDIF, and emphasis on infection control, as well as issues relating to laundering and ownership of slide sheets, Select Healthcare identified the need for a cost effective single patient use slide sheet.
We initially offered two size options (standard and wide) but were approached by the NHS Supply Chain to laterly develop and produce the ‘Medium’ variant to suffice their customers requirements.
Pro-Lock & Pro-Loop Patient Specific Slings
With the increasing incidence of MRSA, CDIF, and emphasis on infection control, as well as issues relating to laundering and ownership of slings, Select Healthcare identified the need for a cost effective single patient use range of slings for both loop and clip attachment hoisting systems.
Initially offering the Pro-Loop and Pro-Lock in boxes of 10 available in small, medium or large, we continued to develop the range, introducing XS and XL along with other sling variants such as amputee and quick fit.
Rota Stand Compact
The Rota Stand Compact, a further Rota Stand development, featuring a completely new platform and using lightweight materials, incorporating the best points of the previous products but adding portability with the foldable design.
Folding lateral transfer board
Our standard full bed length Lateral Transfer Slide continues to be an affordable option within the ‘PAT Slide’ sector, however, many environments called for a version which did not take up so much space or was as ‘awkward’ to handle in a confined space. Hence, we developed the foldable version of our
SPU Uni Slide Chair and Bed
We were approached by various community care teams to produce a SPU version of our popular chair and bed one way glide and lock sheets. We launched the SPU Uni-Slide chair and bed range, available in boxes of 10.
Eco Glide SPU Slide Sheets
Through evolving trends within the SPU slide sheet sector, we launched the Eco Glide as a material based alternative to the market leading S.U.P.A Slide. Available in a dispensing box of 50, the Eco Glide was well received across many NHS Foundation Trusts.
Locomotion
With the emphasis on patient transfer moving forward from the simple ‘pivot turn’, we developed the Locomotion.
With many unique design features such as the single point brake, simple height adjust of the knee pads and rear wheel steer, Select added it’s own mark in the patient transfer field.
Updated handle Mechanism on Rota Stand range
Although a tried and tested design since our range of patient turners were originally launched in 2001, we felt it was time to review and revise the handle height altering system on both the Rota Stand and Rota Stand Solos, to ensure simplicity, safety and ease of use. Bringing a 25 year old product up to date with a simple tweak is testament we believe to the products original great design.
Insitu Sling launched
Adding to the ever popular Locomotor Range of washable slings, Select launch their version of the insitu sling. Having consulted many practitioners within the industry, we believe we’ve designed and manufactured a sling which is quality, affordable and easily useable.
SPU Polyester Slide Sheet Range
Select launch a complete new range of polyester slide sheets in both washable and SPU formats. The comprehensive range covers falt, flat with handles and tubular sheets available in boxes of 10 or 20 depending on style and size.
